With the brands Walker and Schneiders School the company entered new markets. Design & Quality from Schneiders Vienna are a convincing factor nationally and also becoming strong internationally.
2007
Relaunch of the brand "Schneiders" as umbrella brand for the established brands "Walker", "Schneiders Schule" and "Ver Sacrum" to be prepared for the development of new products and markets.
2003
Launch of Schneiders Vienna website. On our pages you will find all our products and lines also offered on online-shops and multifunctional product-finders.
2000
After 65 years Schneiders Vienna has established itself as Austrian's leading bags producer in markets in Europe and overseas The headquarter in Vienna is the hub for design, development and sale.
With the line Walker, Ver Sacrum, Tony Perotti and School & kids Schneiders Vienna offers a programme clearly oriented on the needs of the individual customer.
1995
The line "Tony Perotti" is introduced. The line is extended by high quality leather goods. Schneiders Taschen GesmbH is changed to Schneiders Vienna GesmbH.
1991
The headquarters are moved from the 23rd district to the 16th in Vienna.
90ies
In the 90ies "Schneiders Taschen GesmbH" becomes leading market specialist for children and youth bags. Technical innovations by backpacks and schoolbags have become the trademark of the company. The political changes in Eastern Europe enabled Schneiders to introduce their lines successfully in the emerging markets.
An ever increasing demand for branded company-collections lead to the forming of a new department-OEM - takes responsibility for customers from small clubs to big international companies and makes sure that unique consumer demands are satisfied (see B2B) According to international market strategies our know-how and technology is transferred to our eastern neighbouring countries and to Far East.
1989
The youth-collection Walker was introduced and within a very short period of time it became an object of cult-status. Within a few years after introduction already 92 %* of the original target group recognised the name. (* According to a market research by the Institute for Advertising and Marketing of the University of Vienna)
1986
Introduction of VER SACRUM WIEN - an exclusive handbags- and accessories-line in Art Nouveau-style that incorporates Viennese culture, -tradition and craftsmanship - lead to new marketshares.
70ies and 80ies
The success in the 70ies showed that Schneiders was on the right track. Continuously improving the technologies and using only material of highest quality as well as keeping up with the newest fashion trends ensured that Schneiders stayed on top of the market. The core of business are suitcases, bags and schoolbags.
Swiftly Schneiders adapted to the global changes in the market that happened in the 80ies. The core line was expanded and backpacks became an important part of the line. France advanced to the biggest export market.
1960
The production plant was moved to Liesing (23rd district in Vienna) and was 25.000 m big. In the following years, Schneiders Taschen GesmbH developed into Austria's biggest travellers bags and suitcase manufacturer and no. 3 in Europe.
1935
The whole-sale business was expanded by its own production - the Schneiders bag factory. Right from the beginning the patented "Herzerl"-bag was a big success.
1895
The headquarters were moved to the emperor's capital Vienna, with branches in Temesvar, Budapest and Prag.
1890
In 1890 the house Schneiders was founded in Bregenz. The company "Gummi-Schneiders" was Austria's first store specialised on rubber-products.
